Bandipore Villages now being a good tourist place

Bandipora, November 08: District Administration Bandipora today reviewed the
progress under Development of Model Tourist Villages in the District especially the framing of DPRs for required amenities and facilities in each of 08 identified villages


The meeting was informed that work on eight villages have been started to be developed as model tourist villages in Bandipora district under Mission Youth viz Athwathoo, Zurimanz, Saderkoot Payeen, Srinder, Aloosa Ketsan, Tulail Sheikhpora, Ajas Charwan and Bagotre.
An order has been issued by JDP in which schedule of joint visit by team of officers has been asked to visit these villages

Threadbare discussions were held regarding the preparations of DPRs for required facilities to be made available in these villages that will help to attract tourists besides providing employment to the youth in these villages so that the local population is benefited.


The meeting was chaired by Additional District Development Commissioner Bandipora Ali Afsar Khan and was cordinated by Joint Director Planning Imtiyaz Ahmad, who gave thrust on preparation of holistic DPRs taking into account collaboration of all stake holders.
The meeting was attended by CEO WMDA, Assistant Commissioner Development Bandipora, Coordinator WUCMA, Executive Engineers of R&B, WMDA and PDD, ARTO Bandipora, Assistant Director Tourism , Revenue officers and other senior officers and officials of the district.

ADDC asked the officers to prepare DPRs at earliest so that further action in this regard is taken. He said the eco-friendly facilities shall be made available in the villages without harming the environment besides ensuring facilities to the tourist. He said development of tourist villages will help to generate employment in these villages.

He further directed the officers to work in coordination with other departments while framing the DPRS and special stress shall be laid on development of Recreational facilities, Connectivity besides other required infrastructure.
