The historic victory of Indian Armed forces over Pakistan in 1971 War is a unique and unparalleled feat wherein Indian Armed Forces fought selflessly for a just and noble cause of liberation of the people of erstwhile East Pakistan and the creation of a sovereign and independent Bangladesh


As part of 50th Vijay Diwas celebrations 2021, a cultural extravaganza was organized by IA, Kupwara Terriers on 16 Dec 2021 at Batergam Chowk, Kupwara. The celebration was organized to commemorate and recognize the courage and valour of IA soldiers during 1971 War in an amusing cultural way, promoting the rich heritage of Kashmir and creating an enabling environment for the local theater artists to reach a wider audience through their songs, dance and dramatics.

The event was kick started with local singers taking the stage and mesmerizing the audience with their enthralling performances. Three School children namely Ms Injila Suad AGS Wayne, Ms Munahil Javid AGS Wayne & Ms Sehrish Rashid, Dream world Institute delivered speeches highlighting the importance of the occasion & its significance for the people of Kashmir.Local sensations Sajad Ah & Bilal Ahmed, Sharda theatre kept the audience enchanted. Mr Imam Din DC Kupwara, Mr Javid Ahmad, Tehsildar Kupwara, Mr Tariq Ahmad, BDO Qadirabad, Ms Tahira Beagum, DDC Qadirabad, Mr Mohd Sultan, VLW Gulgam graced the event with their presence. Speaking on the occasion Mr Imam Din DC Kupwara thanked the Indian Army for their immense sacrifices for maint peace throughout the country and in J & K. He urged the people to choose peace over violence & development over extremism.
Col Swaraj Bhattacharya, CO 160 INF BN (TA) (H&H) expressed his gratitude towards the local theatre artists for presenting such culturally rich performances commemorating and recognizing the courage and valour of IA soldiers during 1971 War in a unique way. He also thanked the Mr Imam Din DC Kupwara and other civil administration officials for sparing their valuable time to attend the event which served as an encouragement to the performing local artists.
