SIDBI Bank in partnership with NGO TYCIA and ground implementing partner NGO REACHA launches Project Samarth, an empowerment initiative for 10 families in Kupwara, in collaboration with the Indian Army

Project Samarth, an empowerment initiative was launched today with an objective to provide financial support and guidance at all levels to 10 families who have lost their livelihood due to COVID -19 pandemic and help them to get back on their feet. The ground level identification of beneficiaries, mobilization and coordination for the launch was done by Indian Army and REACHA. The beneficiaries will be supported financially by SIDBI/TYCIA for respective entrepreneurial skills, mentored by experts online/ offline. REACHA will manage the overall project under Army supervision.
The project was virtually inaugurated a month back and today all the beneficiaries received Rs 30,000/- in their accounts from REACHA.
Speaking on this occasion Col MS Navalgatti, CO 41 RR appreciated the agencies involved in the initiative and assured the beneficiaries that Army will provide all possible support for their rehabilitation. On this occasion President Kupwara Traders Federation Mr Showkat Masoodi, District Manager CSC Kupwara Dr Javid Maqbool, member of the Bar Council Mr Asif Wani and many other social workers were present for the event. The project was formally introduced to the beneficiaries and guests and assured them that financial support will be directly transferred to their bank accounts so that they can start the income generating units for themselves.
The project will be a welcome initiative for the frontier district Kupwara and more initiatives by other organisations will help in alleviating the hardships of people of Kupwara. The project would mark a milestone today upholding the entrepreneurial spirit of people of Kupwara.
